Zombies are triggered at the both map exits. If you do not want meeting them. Go as close to the hill-side of the road as possible. This way is a tiny chance that you trigger way. However, if they turn up, this way is much easier to escape them and shot them from distance.

Or travel Dayja OFF THE ROAD.
