It's called Meridian 59. The Bandit's Cave in MM8 was a copy of one of its levels. The game was owned by 3DO and ran for years on the basis of dedicated fan support. Then 3DO shut down the servers -- exactly like what we came to expect of them. The rights to the game were bought back by the original developers and is being run today.
