| I'm hooked on mystery stories (as well as science fiction,) so have picked up quite a few "Britishisms." So much so that sometimes "favor" loooks funny without the "U," and I have to stop and think whether here in America the correct spelling is "practice" or "practise." (The former is preferred by Webster's, but the latter is preferred by me.) Sorry about one word, though: "licence" looks just plain wrong. It's "license" over here. |
