first open the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete).
open the processes tab and ignore those that are "system". look at those that are "yourusernamehere", those that do not have a executable that you can connect with something that u want on you should shut, and longest to the right on the list of processes you see the amount of kb used, divide with 1000 to find the mb, see if there is one/more that takes way much.
it is completely safe to shut the processes as long as they have a "yourusernamehere" in their line. do not even TUCH those with "system".
andd one that is "yourusernamehere" and called hotkeyapp.exe must NOT be shut, and if you run a laptop do NOT shut one called Wbutton.exe. and one more thing, right click your desktop, go to settings tab and click advanced, choose the tab with the name of your graphics card. and find where you can set how many MB of system memory that is to be used for textures in pci-modus (this is how many MB of your RAM that is integred to your graphics card, in addition to the graphics cards own RAM).
with your total RAM you should not have above 50, NO MORE.
