Original Message:   my findings on XP, and SP2
i'll post it here since this seems to have the highest traffic thats useful

this s only a collection of circumstantial evidence collected by me naturall its not 100% correct but it seem sto indicated its reliable

Might and magic 6-7-8 and xp on FAT32 systems it seem sto be posible if you select a good compatibilty fastfast 32, have not talked to anybody able to get it working at all with or without sp2.. NTFS might and magic will not work until SP2 is installed

now, XP and SP2

fat32 can have some issues with ntfs as sp2 is geared towards NTFS, seem sto be incompatibly with fastfat32 and provides not a single problem for NTFS

NTFS (NT files system) is what XP seems to be based on, with windos XP being a hybrid of windows NT and some features of win98se FAT32, file alloctaion table 32bit MOST of the time it works, but FAT32 is slower than NTFS and less secure.. using NTFS provides some measure of security, but doesn't excuse piss poor websurfing habits.

fastfat32 seems to be a hybrid of sorts a faster version of fat32 but everybody i know who has used this has alwys ended up with problems.. so if yer installing XP or such, i woudl SERIOUSLY recommend going to either JUST fat32, and dealing with limitations it provides or going to NTFS which is more stable and secure (relatively, its still windows afterall).

just thought i'd post this up and see if your results are siilar to what i have noticed for people i've been helping around here.
