Original Message:   re MM7 on XP
i was havign a real turd of a time getting mm6 7 and 8 to run on my newer computer.

noticing a old post, i installed the XP service pack 2, defragged my HDD, cleaned up some old and unused games, then installed the game okay.. it whined about not having enough resources for something, think it was complaining about not enough cycles...havign to do with ram speed vs ram amount... go figure...

anyways, it installed despitethe "error" and then i patched to version 1.1 (which i might add s the only thing for mm7 that works from the download that is useful).

then what i did was to double click on the mm7.exe , notthe mm7setup.exe file. it auto configures for software video and runs just fine... now i have the problem i had before on my win 98se puter that i can run up nearly sheer surfaces and the turn rate is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to fast that its just about impossible to move while running unless i run a huge memory hog program like simcity 4 or morrowind.. somethign that eats up a hundred thousand K of processor memory minimum..

so i got mm7 runing on a very powerful XP machine that refuse dto let me play it before mainly by getting service pack 2.. i am NOT running the game in ANY compatibility mode, but to be fair i SHOULD point out i had a game runign in the back ground when i installed the game o its POSSIBLE but IMPROBABLE that it made a difference.
