Well, at least at work. I am going to try the same settings at home tonight. First you have to download the Microsoft Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit. I was not able to get it to run otherwise. Go into the Compatibility Administrator Tool 3.0 item and set it up as follows. I have to give credit to the many of you out there who have worked out some of the bugs for this. I have been working on this for weeks! Create a new Custom Database Fix called mm7fix (or whatever you want). Edit Application Fix: mm7fix; 3do; program file location - your mm7.exe file wherever it is on your PC. Compatability Mode: Microsoft Windows 2000 Compatability Fixes: CorrectFilePaths; CorrectSoundDeviceld; DuplicateHandleFix; ForceDXSetupSuccess; LoadLibraryCWD; NoGhost; VirtualRegistry; Win2000VersionLie. Matching Information: Main Executable - mm7.exe matching files: mm7.icd; mm7setup.exe; Anims\Might7.vid; Anims\Magic7.vid. Finish and save in new folder. I called mine C:\mmfixes\mm7. Go to it and click on it to install the fix. Start mm7setup first and set the launcher to Software Accelerated and full screen. Sound did not come up. Launch mm7. This worked for me and my machine setup. Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 1. As a side note, the sound does not work well at all. It will have to be corrected. I can live with the sound just to have mm7 back - !!!!!! ,:=) I ran through the opening video, started new characters, saved, and played for awhile. This seems to be the fix, at least for me. |
