Try this it worked for me

Keep the graphics card selected as Software/DirectDraw and try the following…

Please try adjusting the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level in DxDiag, to do this please do the following...

1. Click the Start button

2. Click Run

3. Type in dxdiag

4. Click the OK button

5. Click the Sound tab at the top

6. Slide the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider down one notch to Standard Acceleration

7. Click Exit

If this fails to help please try sliding the slider further down.

I had to slid eit down 3 times befor emine worked Regards,
