I'm working on a project to convert the Might & Magic system to RM2K through heavy use of variables, to hopefully combine MM7 and MM8 into a single, larger game. Recently I decided to up the authenticity and use all the systems from those games rather than making sacrifices for ease of translation, and it's made me realize there are a few things I'm not completely certain on regarding invisible game mechanics. The primary problem is recovery. I know the recovery times for weapons, but not for unarmed attacks. I don't know specifically how much recovery spells add at each level of mastery, the effects of the swift/darkness weapon properties on recovery or recovery for relics/artifacts. I also don't know the exact effects of speed on recovery. Is the bonus subtracted from any given recovery time? Does your actual speed score have any effect on recovery or order of initiative? What's the recovery time of using a potion? Are skill levels that "reduce recovery time" on a 1 for 1 basis or another invisible mechanic? Why is it the blaster can have its recovery reduced to 0 but a dagger with 60 ranks in dagger and armsmaster is never that fast? Any insight is appreciated. |
