Darkmoor

I am playing MM6 for the first time in a very long time. I remembered that Castle Darkmoor was a very annoying place. So I have left it to last. I have done all the quests leading up to the oracle quests and am level 54 with lots of good gear. I figured that Darkmoor would not seem as tough now. Wrong!!!!! It's still an unbelievingly annoying place. I hate those eyes!

The solution to the Eyes is . . .

. . . Dragon Breath cast by a fully developed Dark Magic Master with 25 skill levels in Dark Magic, equipped with both a Ring of Dark Magic and Guinevere. The Eyes drop like flies.

You'll probably still have to find somewhere to rest to recharge your spell points a couple of times, but that's no hardship. Just set a Lloyd's Beacon, portal out to New Sorpigal, have your rest, and beacon back in to continue from where you left off.

Always clearing your buffs. I use dragon breath at distances. In close I use the toxic clouds, I think it is called.

I don't know how dedicated you are to playing the game straightforwardly, but...

I've done Darkmoor without killing anything (I played a game trying to kill as few enemies as possible). There are some things you can avoid and shortcuts you can take, and a hidden door. Generally have to set Beacons to do it, but it's doable.

I would note that I've also done Darkmoor killing absolutely every critter in the dungeon.

In fact, it's so annoying place that some people don't visit it until they have blasters.

You do. That was a bad formulation from me.
