I used to call in at these Taverns regularly during the working day, and there would usually be something new to read as a quick 5-minute break. But life and time have moved on, and there don't seem to be many of us left now who are regular visitors.

Chlala, do you have any stats on how many hits the Taverns get during the day? And is there any way of telling which of these are real people and not spam-bots?

If those are the only choices - some days I must be a spam-bot.

Nope sorry I don't know of any stats like that for the boards.

There used to be one on the web sites but I'm not sure if they even work anymore.

Anyway it's not the number of visitors, it's the number of questions, and since the game is getting older, the players and questions are getting less.

Wanna talk about other stuff or games?

I know time has moved on, but computer gaming has gone in directions that leave me cold. I still love the RPGs, but nobody's writing them any more. One of these days, I'll have time to play BDJ's mods through, and I still have to play MM2.

I'm not really interested in multiplayer RPGs like WoW. And in addition, if I did buy such a game, I would considerably resent having to go on paying for the "privilege" of playing it.

I think I'll go back and start another character in "Moria". I've maintained a Win98 partition on my old pc which handles a DOS shell well, and whereas Moria isn't as interesting as the MM style games, it is a game I can play without having to devote long blocks of time to it or having to remember what I planned to do next.

I still keep an eye on the MM Tribute game at Castle Gobs, but that's also pretty well asleep now. I'm not absolutely certain, but I don't think anyone posted anything there last week. Some brave souls are trying to continue and are reporting at the link below, but there's something wrong somewhere with my access to that site. I used to be able to post to it (and can still read it), but it won't allow me to post there any more.

My favorite is HoM 4-because you develop your Hero -through his/her classes and hero eventually fights on battlefield .
    Music also very good .

You should definitely play MM2. Just keep a pad of graph paper nearby, if you have any left from playing the Eye of the Beholder series!

Did you ever succeed in completely mapping the Dwarf levels in EOB1? I had no idea where I was when I went through some of those portals activated by the stone keys. I eventually memorised the main routes, but it's so long since I played the games that I doubt if I could go through them properly now - especially MM3, which I didn't play nearly as much as the other two.

I thought I had some pretty good mapping done when I discovered that a corridor I thought was new cut through some others already mapped. Erase, remap, retry, erase, and I was left with some hopeless scribbles. Swore a lot and went to buy the cluebook...

I still have the books for EoB1 and EoB2 (having learned my lesson the first time!). Each around 76 pages, with parts on Party Composition and Strategy, Maps, Treasure Guide; EoB1 has a section with hints only and a section with detailed solutions. EoB2 deals only with detailed solutions.
It's been twenty years and I'm not sure about copyrights. I could make photocopies (or scans) if you want.

Recovery has been good, but I have bouts of depression from time to time. I've been taking day trips to relax quite a lot, but what I really need is a good weekend away when I can afford one. Maybe I'll get my teeth into another game of TCC soon as well.

I can't say with honesty that I really understand what you're going through, because I'm one of the fortunate ones largely unaffected by depression.

But my wife is a counsellor, so she sees a good few people suffering from it. (I've never met any of them, of course - the client's privacy is paramount.) I therefore understand it "at third hand", so to speak. I certainly know enough about it to realise that it's an illness as real as any other and that it can cause a huge amount of distress, so as I say, you have my sympathy.

I've got good friends and I'm receiving counselling and doing therapeutic voluntary work. I love gardening and don't have my own garden, so it's a great opportunity for me. It's not always dark although it seems like it will be when you're down. Anyway - don't want to depress everyone and it's hardly M&M but thanks for your support and tell your wife she's doing an amazing job! Even if most clients don't show their appreciation, I'm sure they are grateful.
