Need help Installing TCC

I've never installed a mod, don't know what I'm doing. MM6 is installed to 1.2 with Greyface's patch. I downloaded the TCC files and extracted them to a folder on my desktop. I put that folder in C:\Program Files\3DO\Might and Magic VI. I still start in New Sorpigal.

It sounds like you you are still accessing the original DATA folder LOD files instead of the TCC LOD files.

If you are running your PC with WindowsXP, the unzipped DATA, ANIMS, and SOUNDS folders should **replace** the original folders of the same name. Make sure that they did. See photo.

Check just where your MM6 game is installed. It may not be under a folder named "3DO', but elsewhere.

If you are running Windows 7, the install is slightly different.

Installing TCC

Trying to install TCC not knowing what I'm doing, I made huge mess of the folder you show. So I uninstalled MMVI and deleted the MMVI folder. BTW I'm using Vista. I installed MMVI and copied folders, ANIMS,DATA,Saves and SOUNDS to a folder on my desktop. I have your downloads from Mediafile on my desktop in Zip folders, using IZarc. Now what do I do. Keep in mind I don't know the difference between unzipping and extracting or if their the same thing.

    Dean,

Here's what you need to do.

    1. Find out **where** MM6 has been installed, and 'enter' that install folder.

    2. You should see a DATA folder, an ANIMS folder, and a SOUNDS folder (among other items) in the install directory.

    3. Rename each of these folders as follows;

    Rename DATA to DATA.bk
    Rename ANIMS to ANIMS.bk
    Rename SOUNDS to SOUNDS.bk

    4. Extract (same as unZipp) TCC_Pt1_ANIMS_FINAL.zip and place the folder ANIMS in your MM6 install directory.

    5. Extract (same as unZipp) TCC_Pt1_DATA_FINAL.zip and place the folder DATA in your MM6 install directory.

    5. Extract (same as unZipp) TCC_Pt1_SOUNDS_FINAL.zip and place the folder SOUNDS in your MM6 install directory.

That's it for the install. Start a game and begin to play!

Now, I have never run the game with VISTA. I have run the game on Windows XP and on Windows7. You may have to configure to run your game as Administrator in order to SAVE games. I cannot help you with this on VISTA,but maybe someone else on this site can.

    Have fun!

Playing TCC on Vista
06/03/2011, 10:22:24

    Eagle Scout writes:

Just a warning on Vista, the TCC Part 1 game played great with no hitches, however when I installed Part 2 TCC, I could not get the game to save. It started OK with the saved game from TCC Part 1, but would not save as TCC Part 2.

Anyone else have this problem on Vista?

I brought up my old XT machine just to play TCC Part 1 & 2.

OK. Can't help you with VISTA, but I had the same problems on Windows7. I had to configure the .exe to "Run as Administrator".

    For what it is worth.
