Around my area, we have what are referred to as drains, creeks, and of course, the Huron River. The creeks and drains are usually no more than a ditch, and in most places, the Huron River is best described as a creek.

Even though it's considered a river, there is usually no watercraft that goes along the Huron, except for the occasional canoe or rowboat. I honestly don't think it's deep enough to accommodate a power watercraft.
