I know time has moved on, but computer gaming has gone in directions that leave me cold. I still love the RPGs, but nobody's writing them any more. One of these days, I'll have time to play BDJ's mods through, and I still have to play MM2. I'm not really interested in multiplayer RPGs like WoW. And in addition, if I did buy such a game, I would considerably resent having to go on paying for the "privilege" of playing it. I think I'll go back and start another character in "Moria". I've maintained a Win98 partition on my old pc which handles a DOS shell well, and whereas Moria isn't as interesting as the MM style games, it is a game I can play without having to devote long blocks of time to it or having to remember what I planned to do next. I still keep an eye on the MM Tribute game at Castle Gobs, but that's also pretty well asleep now. I'm not absolutely certain, but I don't think anyone posted anything there last week. |
